Resident Assistants

The Office of Residence Life employs 31 Resident Assistants (RAs) each year to serve students in the residence halls.  We look for passionate leaders who seek to make a change on the UPIKE campus and in the lives of the residential community. Below you will find more information regarding the position as well as the general timeline for applications. 

How to Apply:

Applications are available in January each year on Bears@Work.  To apply you will need the following documents ready to upload to your application:

  • A current resume and cover letter
  • A typed document that answers four short answer questions (questions will be found on the position posting on Bears @ Work)
  • You also must send the Reference Form to two members of the UPIKE family 

RA Requirements:

  • Must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Must have lived on campus at least 2 semesters prior to beginning of employment
  • Clear student conduct record at UPIKE  

Timeline for the RA selection process: 

  • Early February: All application materials are due (including resumes, cover letter, short answer questions, and reference forms).
  • Mid-February: Group Interview Process
  • Mid-Februay: Individual interviews
  • Early March: Hiring decisions sent to UPIKE email accounts
  • Mid-March: Student accept or decline position offers 

If resume and cover letter assistance is needed, students should make an appointment with the Center for Career, Vocation, and Leadership. When arriving at your appointment, students should have a copy of their resume prepared.
