If you’re an incoming or current student, apply for housing by submitting the housing application at live.upike.edu using your UPIKE username and password.
All new students are required to provide information regarding their housing plans for the 2021-2022 academic year. The application will gather information for students wishing to live on campus as well as allow commuter students the option to select a meal plan.
The following timeline has been established for housing assignment notifications:
March 1, 2021: The Housing and Meal Plan Application available for the 2021-2022 academic year
June 1, 2021: Priority Deadline for Mutually Requested Roommates
June 9, 2021: Earlybird Assignment Notifications for Mutually Requested Roommates
July 5, 2021: Priority deadline for all students wishing to live on campus
July 12, 2021: Housing assignment and roommate notifications
Any student who experiences issues while completing this application should email housing@upike.edu or call 606-218-5224 for assistance.
Changes to housing or roommate assignments may be requested after the first three weeks of the Fall 2021 semester.
Important ADA Housing Accommodation Reminder
New students who anticipate the need for ADA housing accommodations are highly encouraged to submit their documentation for the 2021-2022 academic year to the Center for Disability Services by July 5, 2021 to increase the likelihood of the University’s ability to meet the accommodation and be able to participate in Group Housing or the Returning Student Housing Selection processes.
Students who submit their ADA Housing Accommodation documentations after this date may be accommodated where space allows.
The Office of Residence Life offers two options for returning students to apply for housing for the 2021-2022 academic year: Group Housing Applications and Returning Student Housing Selection.
Please see below for more information on these processes and important deadlines to keep in mind:
Group Housing
All upperclassmen students requesting specific suitemates (in groups of 4, 6, or 8) to live in upperclassmen housing together can apply for Group Housing. The application is available beginning February 15, 2021 and will close at 11:59 PM on February 28, 2021.
Group Housing is available in Page and Spilman halls for groups consisting of rising Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors; College Square for groups consisting of rising Juniors and Seniors; and Kinzer Hall for groups consisting of ONLY rising Seniors. Groups will be able to preference two residence halls, but will not be able to preference a specific floor or suite.
Any remaining suites will be available for Returning Student Housing Selection in March to any student who has not applied for Group Housing. The second floor of Derriana Hall will also be available during the Returning Student Housing Selection process.
To be fully considered for Group Housing, all members of the group must submit a housing application through live.upike.edu by this deadline as well.
Returning Student Housing Selection
Students who did not participate in Group Housing may select a room and assign a roommate their selected room between March 23, 2021 – March 29, 2021 via live.upike.edu.
In the application, residents will have the chance to make updates to the following information:

*Please note all roommates have 48 hours to confirm the roommate request and submit their housing application. You will not be able to assign a roommate to your room until their designated selection day.

Late Housing Applications
Any housing applications submitted by current students after the closure of the Returning Student Housing Selection in March will be held until campus-wide assignment and roommate notifications are sent out during the summer months.
All returning students who missed prior deadlines are urged to submit their housing application by July 5, 2021 via live.upike.edu as housing fills quickly. Mutual roommate requests can still be submitted and will be accommodated as space allows.
If you’re transferring to UPIKE for the spring semester or being readmitted and wish to live on campus, you will need to submit a Housing and Meal Plan Application. The following timeline has been established for housing assignment notifications:
October 18, 2021: The Housing and Meal Plan Application becomes available for Spring 2020.
December 15, 2021: Priority deadline for all students wishing to live on campus
December 17, 2021: Housing assignment and roommate notifications
Please keep in mind the University is closed between December 24 – January 2, therefore notifications will not be sent during this time.

The University of Pikeville has limited apartment units available for graduate and family housing located approximately three miles driving distance from campus. UPIKE offers three styles of housing at south campus.
Furniture, utilities, cable, and internet are included in the cost of rent and free laundry is available on-site. For more information or to obtain a lease agreement, please contact housing@upike.edu or (606) 218-5224.
Full-time undergraduate students are required to live in campus housing from the point they agree to the terms and conditions of the Housing Contract. Additionally, according to the Student Handbook, all student-athletes are required to reside in university housing.
If you wish to live off-campus, you must request this by the following dates each semester:
Fall 2021Returning Students: Off-Campus Residency Application is due May 31, 2021
New Students: Off-Campus Residency Application is due July 5, 2021
Spring 2022All Students: Off-Campus Residency Application is due December 1, 2021
Applications received after the above dates will not be accepted. You must submit your application by completing the form prior to signing a lease for off-campus housing and submitting it to the Office of Residence Life (anticipate 3-5 business days for processing). Please email housing@upike.edu for a copy of the Off-Campus Residency Application.
