First-Year Experience

We are happy you made the decision to be a Bear! During your first-year experience, we will provide you with opportunities that introduce you to life on campus and in the community. You will bond with classmates in small groups, meet fellow students during campus-wide social events, participate in UPIKE traditions and share in service learning, which is an integral part of the UPIKE Family. Most importantly, you will take part in programs that will prepare you for your academic journey at UPIKE. We look forward to joining you as you find your place at UPIKE.

Overall, the First-Year Experience is a concentrated effort designed to orient new students to college life by helping you integrate into an academic and social network of professors and classmates, and providing you with the knowledge and resources necessary for success throughout your college career. This experience includes GROWL, First-Year Orientation, Welcome Week and First-Year Seminar, a one-semester course.
