The University of Pikeville and Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine join together with the American Heart Association (AHA) to provide training for students and instructors across campus.

An American Heart Association Training Site is an approved location that offers CPR and emergency cardiovascular care courses with the oversight of an AHA Training Center. Sites must meet specific standards, including having certified instructors, the right equipment and consistent course quality.

At KYCOM, earning AHA Training Site status lets us expand lifesaving training for students, faculty and the wider community. With our own instructors and equipment, KYCOM can host courses on campus, issue eCards to participants and keep every class aligned with AHA standards.

For UPIKE, this is more than checking boxes. It is part of preparing future physicians and serving the region by strengthening emergency preparedness across Eastern Kentucky.
