Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Rural Dental Medicine Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to incoming students residing in Central Appalachian counties, as defined by the Appalachian Regional Commission, upon applying to the Tanner College of Dental Medicine’s predoctoral dental education program who intend to practice dental medicine in Central Appalachia. Scholarship recipients will be selected during the Admissions process by the University Office of Admissions and Dean of the Tanner College of Dental Medicine.

Delta Dental of Kentucky Rural Dental Medicine Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to incoming students residing in rural and underserved counties in the Commonwealth of Kentucky[DL3.1] upon applying to the Tanner College of Dental Medicine’s predoctoral dental education program who intend to practice dental medicine in these locations. Scholarship recipients will be selected during the Admissions process by the University Office of Admissions and Dean of the Tanner College of Dental Medicine.Deadline: April 15
Dr. John Phillips Rural Dental Medicine Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to incoming students of the Tanner College of Dental Medicine’s predoctoral dental education program who intend to practice dental medicine in Eastern Kentucky or other rural areas in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This scholarship is granted to students who are residents of Pike County, Kentucky, or other Eastern Kentucky counties upon admission. Applicants must submit a personal essay (500–750 words) describing their interest in pursuing dental medicine and their commitment to serving rural and underserved communities. The essay should highlight relevant experiences, career goals, and how the scholarship will support their intention to practice in a rural setting. Recipients will be selected during the Admissions process by the University Office of Admissions and Dean of the Tanner College of Dental Medicine.
United HealthCare Services Kentucky Dental Scholars Program
This scholarship will be awarded to incoming students residing in the State of Kentucky upon applying to the Tanner College of Dental Medicine’s predoctoral dental education program who intend to provide dental care in underserved regions of the state. Offering this scholarship will serve to enhance workforce development and offer potential students the opportunity to attend dental school who otherwise may not have had the financial resources. Scholarship recipients will be selected during the Admissions process by the University Office of Admissions and Dean of the Tanner College of Dental Medicine.
