What is the Honors Program?
The University of Pikeville Honors Program is a selective academic community for high-achieving and highly motivated students from all undergraduate academic disciplines. The program is designed to enrich the undergraduate experience by offering enhanced academic opportunities, leadership and professional development, and a close-knit community that supports students’ success inside and outside the classroom. The program is based on three core principles: Scholarship – Leadership – Community.

What is the process for admissions into the program?
Application reviews will be conducted by the Honors Program Admissions Committee. In determining an applicant’s strengths, the committee will consider the following:
The Honors Program will begin accepting applications for admission on April 1st,. Applications will be accepted through August 1st. Application reviews will be conducted by UPIKE faculty members serving on the Honors Program Admissions Committee. Students will be notified of their program admission status via email by August 15th.

Honors Scholars who complete a bachelor’s degree program at UPIKE will be recognized at graduation if they have maintained a 3.5 cumulative GPA in undergraduate work, achieved thebenchmarks in experiential learning as provided in the student handbook, participated fully in program activities, and exhibited proper ethical qualities and conduct.
