UPIKE looks forward to 2021 for its Distinguished Educators Hall of Fame

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) has carried a yearly tradition of honoring individuals who have made a lifelong commitment to education and have dedicated themselves to serving the needs of the region. Since 2010 UPIKE has recognized and celebrated educators who have had a life-changing impact on their students and communities.

For 2020, UPIKE has made the difficult decision to look forward to next year’s Distinguished Educators Hall of Fame in 2021, and not hold a ceremony or nominations for 2020 due to COVID-19’s restrictions on the K-12 education system.

Now more than ever, educators in central Appalachia and across the globe are having to reimagine their classrooms and focus on educating students from a distance. UPIKE is excited to recognize once again the achievement and commitment of this most essential occupation in 2021.
