UPIKE alumni in Ashland gather over dinner

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville’s advancement team greeted familiar faces at a recent alumni and friends dinner at Bellefonte Country Club in Ashland, Ky.

Alumni, parents of students and friends dear to UPIKE were able to make new connections, reminisce on fond memories and catch up on happenings on the historic hill.

Anna Davis (‘08) looks forward to the gathering in Ashland each year.

“I have attended the alumni event in Ashland for the past three years,” said Davis. “I enjoy seeing familiar faces from the past, as well as getting to know new ones. As a former athlete and coach at UPIKE, I have a lot of memories on the hill. It is nice to reminisce with other alum when we are able to get together at these events. It is awesome to see the changes that have occurred over the past 11 years since I graduated and exciting to see what the future holds.”

Guests visited with President Burton Webb and First Lady Kay Webb, UPIKE Chancellor and former Kentucky Governor Paul E. Patton, Vice President of Advancement and Alumni Relations David Hutchens and Provost Lori Werth. Hearing from UPIKE’s top leadership about the growth of the university is a favorite for attendees who may not have visited campus recently. However, guests leave with an open invitation to visit their alma mater and see for themselves how much their beloved university has changed and how it is continuing to produce graduates ready to serve with compassion and lead confidently.

Although their time on campus as a student has ended, alumni find that staying in touch with UPIKE and attending events like the one in Ashland is a meaningful tradition. For an updated list of 2019 UPIKE alumni events, email alumni@upike.edu or call 606-218-5276.
