University of Pikeville Celebrates Grand Reopening of Table 99

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) welcomed community members on Thursday, October 2, to celebrate the grand reopening of Table 99, located in Bears Tower on Hambley Boulevard.

The event began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception, where guests enjoyed free samples, raffle prizes and a first look at the refreshed dining space. Later that evening, families returned for a continuation of the festivities, which included free bears and meals for children 10 and under with an adult purchase, along with additional giveaways.

Table 99 is open to the public and offers expanded hours and menu options. The restaurant proudly serves Starbucks beginning at 7 a.m. each weekday, with regular dining hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday. Families can also take advantage of Kids Eat Free Fridays, where children 10 and under dine at no cost with the purchase of an adult meal.

“The atmosphere here is completely transformed. What was once the hotel space has been reimagined into a vibrant new restaurant where students and community members can come together. We already have many students who enjoy spending their evenings here, and we want this to be a welcoming place for everyone,” said UPIKE President Burton Webb, Ph.D. “With a brand-new menu rolling out this week, it’s an exciting time to experience all that Table 99 has to offer.”

Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and Operations Lindsey Wertz, emphasized that the recent changes are designed to bring people together.

“Our goal with these updates is more than about food and design,” said Wertz. “It’s about community.”

Community members are encouraged to follow UPIKE and UPIKE Dining Services on social media for upcoming specials and events. Guests can also leave a review of Table 99 on Google to receive a special gift.
