Neural systems regulating stress responses by the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenocortical (HPA) axis. Role of stress neurocircuitry and glucocorticoid signaling in the brain in the development of Depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Combining systems-level, cellular and molecular analyses: localized lesions (neurotoxic or immunotoxic), intracranial infusions, tract-tracing, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization.
