Dr. Saima Ejaz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Basic Medical Sciences at the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, Pikeville University. With over 12 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Ejaz brings a deep commitment to advancing medical education and fostering student success.

Her primary research interests lie in Molecular GeneticsAlzheimer’s disease, and Cardiovascular Diseases, with a focus on understanding disease mechanisms and exploring innovative therapeutic strategies. During her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of South Dakota, Dr. Ejaz investigated experimental treatments for neurodegenerative and cardiovascular conditions, including the role of protein quality control and pharmacological agents such as Cinaciguat and neprilysin inhibitors.

Dr. Ejaz has taught and mentored students internationally, including at Northern Border University and King Saud Bin Abdul Aziz University for Health Sciences in Saudi Arabia, where she contributed to curriculum development, student advising, and collaborative research initiatives.

As Research Committee Chair at KYCOM, Dr. Ejaz is passionate about integrating research into medical education. She is dedicated to creating a supportive learning environment that connects classroom knowledge with real-world clinical and scientific applications. Her extensive publication record reflects her commitment to scholarly excellence and collaborative inquiry.
