Coleman College of Business Leadership Series October 11

The University of Pikeville’s Coleman College of Business will host a Speakers and Leadership Series event on Friday, October 11, at 1 p.m. in Booth Auditorium. UPIKE alumnus Justin “Juddy” Gordon will serve as the featured guest speaker with his presentation, “Football, Graduation and Life After Pikeville College (UPIKE).”

Gordon’s success during his high school football career led him to be awarded an athletic scholarship to play in Pikeville College’s newly-formed football program in 2000. He was one of the “Elite Nine” members of the program.

During his time on the hill, Gordon was involved in the Baptist Student Union and served as an ACE peer mentor as well as the college’s mascot, “Pikey the Bear.” He received his B.B.A. in business management in 2004 from Pikeville College.

Gordon began employment with the Kroger Corporation in Louisville, Ky., in 2005 and currently serves as the store’s general manager. Over the years, he has accumulated numerous awards for his service to others.

In 2006, Gordon initiated and organized the Broadway Christmas Project (BCP) to provide presents for underprivileged children during the holiday season. Since the establishment of the BCP, over 700 families have awakened to presents under the tree.

Fortune magazine named Gordon “Hero of the Fortune 500” in 2015 for his passion and continued devotion to the BCP.

The campus and the community are cordially invited to attend the October 11 event. For more information, contact Brenda Maynard, associate professor of business, at (606) 218-5005 or brendamaynard@upike.edu
