At the University of Pikeville (UPIKE), educators who’ve had a profound influence on their students’ lives are celebrated each year through the Distinguished Educators Hall of Fame. This ceremony recognizes educators whose careers reflect an exceptional commitment to students and the communities they serve.
Selected through nominations from colleagues, former students and community members, this year’s honorees will be formally inducted during a ceremony on Tuesday, October 20, at 6 p.m. in Booth Auditorium.
This year’s inductees include Cleopatra Fields of Pikeville, Tabitha Halcomb of Hindman, Carlos Haywood (posthumously), Sally Hubbard of Pound, Virginia, Andrea Humphries of Pikeville, Cynthia Johnson of Virgie, Shelia Varney of Belfry, Toby Wagner of Pikeville, Annette Ward of Forest Hills, and Claire West of Raccoon.
UPIKE encourages the campus and the community to join in celebrating this year’s inductees. If unable to attend, please visit www.youtube.com/@upikebears/streams to view the ceremony.
