University of Pikeville honors Class of 2017
The University of Pikeville honored the academic achievements of 262 graduates at the associate, baccalaureate and master’s degree levels and 120 Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree recipients from the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM) during commencement exercises on May 20.

University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM) students and faculty recently participated in a health fair at East Ridge High School providing health screenings, eye exams, blood pressure and blood glucose checks and osteopathic manipulative treatment to patients.
UPIKE students excel during national entrepreneurship challenge
University of Pikeville students earned fourth place and $2,500 during the seventh annual Richards Barrentine Values and Ventures® Competition.

Applications are available for the University of Pikeville’s STEM Mini Camps. The program is sponsored by the EQT Foundation and will include a series of four two-day camps for students who will be enrolled in fifth through eighth grade in the 2017-2018 school year.
UPIKE-KYCO faculty inducted into National Academies of Practice
Donald J. Egan, O.D., FAAO, professor and associate dean of the University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO), was inducted into the prestigious National Academies of Practice (NAP) during the organization’s annual meeting held this year in Philadelphia.

UPIKE earned a first-place award from the Public Relations Society of America’s Thoroughbred Chapter for the relaunch of the UPIKE Magazine.

First publication for UPIKE English major
Michael C. Mullins has had his essay “Beautiful Loser” accepted for publication by “Aurora,” a literary and arts magazine published by Eastern Kentucky University (EKU). This will be Mullins’ first publication.
