In Kentucky, optometrists are equipped to provide the fullest scope of practice. This includes offering both laser procedures and office-based surgical procedures.
At KYCO, we offer YAG capsulotomy, selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) and laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI). Office-based surgical procedures include lump and bump removal and chalazion (stye) extraction.
Faculty optometrists, perform surgical procedures using the cutting-edge method of radio-frequency, which uses radio waves to vaporize the tissue and leaves a scar-free surface. If you suffer from chalazias, these lesions can be drained in-office to provide cosmetic and functional benefits.
