Refreshments will be provided. \n\n\n\nRelevant facts: \n\n\n\nNovember 1\, 1888\, the Ebenezer Presbytery purchased three acres of land for $1\,666.66 on present day College Street to build a school.  The hope was to build a school to educate mountain youth and to instill principles of ChristianityMay 18\, 1889\, Rev. David Blyth was installed as the minister of the newly established First Presbyterian Church in Pikeville and was named principal of the Pikeville Collegiate InstituteSeptember 16\, 1889\, began the school term in the Academy Building with a tuition of $8.00 and the enrollment was estimated to be 125 students\n\n\n\n\n
