UPIKE First Summer Bridge Program

• FREE tuition for FS 102 First Year Seminar (a two-credit hour general education course required of all first year UPIKE students) 
• FREE tuition for MTH 100 Preparatory Mathematics (one-credit hour) or MTH 105 Contemporary College Math (three-credit hours). Placement in these courses is based on high school GPA, math ACT scores, and intended major. 
• Small class size of no more than 18 students
• Early orientation to college life for a smooth transition
• Access to accelerated academic coursework
• Early service, social, academic, career and personal development programs outside of coursework

Four-Week Program

Students will participate in a four-week program where class meets every Tuesday and Thursday.

• Non-residential
• FREE parking
• Attending all course meetings is vital for this accelerated course

• Completing FS 102 and MTH 100/105 prior to the fall semester allows more flexibility for fall semester courses
• Training in skills necessary for college success that are built into the curriculum of FS 102, such as time management, critical thinking and growth mindset

Requirements

• Students must attend GROWL on May 24, 2023 from 1:30-7:30 p.m. and register for the Fall 2023 semester (full-time)
• Students who qualify for the Pikeville Promise scholarship will be given preference. (Must be a Kentucky resident and display full eligibility for Pell Grant while also receiving College Access Program and Kentucky Tuition Grant state financial assistance awards)
