UPIKE’s Judicial Speakers Series to feature Will T. Scott

Former Circuit Judge, Assistant Commonwealth Attorney and Associate Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court Will T. Scott will be the featured speaker for the University of Pikeville College of Arts and Sciences’ Judicial Speakers Series. The inaugural event, sponsored by the Kentucky Bar Association, will be held Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Health Professions Education Building, seventh floor. Campus and the community are cordially invited to attend the event to celebrate the Pikeville College alumnus and servant leader.
Scott was honored earlier this year with his portrait displayed on the second floor of the Kentucky Capitol. He is both a decorated veteran and a respected attorney. After enlisting in the United States Army in 1966, Scott finished his service in Vietnam as a First Lieutenant and was awarded his airborne wings and the Bronze Star as well as many other honors. After three years of service, Scott finished his degree at then Pikeville College and went on to receive his law degree and master’s of law in taxation from the University of Miami.
Scott is a proud eastern Kentuckian who, after serving his country, continued to give of his time and talent to the Commonwealth by practicing law in Kentucky courtrooms for 29 years. He resides in Pikeville, is a member of the First Christian Church, and is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing with family and friends.
