Phi Beta Lambda students recognized at national conference

The University of Pikeville chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) recently attended the FBLA-PBL National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Ga.

Four UPIKE PBL students earned recognition in the national competition:
Adam Hall of Shelbiana, third place cost accounting
Jessica Frazier of McPherson, Kan., fifth in client service
Billy Cochran of Evarts, ninth place in impromptu speaking
Zane Maheu of Pikeville, tenth place in personal finance

Other UPIKE students who competed included, Donald Anderson of Kingsland, Ga., James Brooks of London, Sara Hall of Shelbiana, Nicole Hall of Pikeville, Chandra Hunley of Salyersville, and Jarred Thacker of Shelbiana.

“I am extremely proud of this group,” said Lois Rogers, associate professor of accounting. “They always represent themselves, PBL and UPIKE in the most professional manner.”

PBL’s mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
