Frank Welch
The University of Pikeville holds a special place in the heart of alumnus Frank Welch. Attending then Pikeville College, he received more than he could have ever fathomed: an education, which provided him the foundation to become the quintessential Kentucky educator, a relationship with Jesus Christ, and a loving wife.

Faculty Spotlight
John Howie

John Howie At first glance, Dr. John Howie may look like the archetype of a college professor: white, narrowing beard, glasses, typical brown leather satchel, and what seems like eccentric behavior. After delving deeper into Howie's life works, experiences, beliefs, and thoughts, it becomes clear that he is anything but an archetype, even for a psychology professor.

100 Years of Broadway
Dinner and Show - December 2
100 Years of Broadway
"The best tribute to the music of Broadway with first-class performers straight from the Broadway stage. It blew my audience away. They never expected to actually hear the Broadway performers sing the songs they performed on Broadway," Bill Mandicott, executive director, Frostburg State PAC.

Tickets go on sale Monday, Oct. 29 at JWTheatre.com.

Welcome to the UPIKENEWS, the official newsletter of the University of Pikeville Alumni Association.
This month we celebrate several accomplishments of the UPIKE community, recap a great Homecoming Week, and recognize our Educators Hall of Fame inductees and Alumni Association award recipients. In the upcoming weeks, we will host our annual golf outing at StoneCrest and hold a special 100 Years of Broadway concert to benefit the 737 Worship Service. On November 1, UPIKE Men's Basketball plays UofL at the KFC Yum!
