The Inauguration of
Dr. James L. Hurley

Dr. Hurley became the 20th president of the University on July 1, 2013, and is the first alumnus in the school's 124-year history to lead his alma mater. Join us on Friday, Oct. 18 as we celebrate his pivotal achievement.

"It's impossible to think about who I am today as a person without thinking about the influence of my caring professors at the University of Pikeville. I am very proud of that. They definitely made me a better person, lawyer, and citizen."

Trevor Setty Signs
Pro-Basketball Contract

"It's a natural progression," Wells said. "He's done everything we've asked him to do, and I feel like he's a part of our family, I've been with him so long. It's great to see him have that next opportunity, I'm anxious to see how he does."

Private College Appreciation
2nd Annual Appreciation Day
AIKCU will host its 2nd Annual Private College Appreciation Day  Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 4-6 pm in Frankfort. The event is a chance for alumni and friends of member institutions, who live and work around Frankfort and central Kentucky, to network, connect with representatives from their institutions, and celebrate the strength of Kentucky's private college and university sector. Registration is free.

Laiken McKinney
"I expect a lot out of myself on the golf course, but I know it takes even more to be excellent in the classroom. The hardest part about finding balance as a student-athlete is prioritizing."

White Coat Ceremony
White Coat of Compassion
White coat ceremonies are rites of passage for beginning medical students. The ritual encourages a psychological contract that emphasizes professionalism and empathy in the practice of medicine and focuses on the importance of both scientific excellence and compassionate care for the patient.

KYCOM Students Travel
Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic

"Often in America, we get so wrapped up in helping ourselves that we forget to look around and see how we can help someone else, especially those in need. Often, such an opportunity is right in front of us not just in developing countries like the Dominican Republic."

~Char-Leigh Craft, OMS-II

UPIKE Invites Alumni
Artists to 'Come Home'

"Homecoming is an opportunity to reflect on a significant time of our life that has resulted, in part, in who we are today. The alumni art show can provide a broader understanding of the direction alumni have taken, what they are interested in, who have they become. The show will include all kinds of creative endeavors - photography, poetry, painting, sculpture, digital art," said Pat Kowalok, professor of art at UPIKE.
