The University of Pikeville's chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) recently earned top honors gathering several awards in academic competition during the Kentucky spring leadership conference held on the campus of Northern Kentucky University in March.

Gottfried speaks at Athletics Banquet

The University of Pikeville will celebrate the 2011-12 athletics year with a banquet on Sunday, May 6 at the East Kentucky Expo Center.

The guest speaker will be Mike Gottfried, who spent 12 successful seasons as a head college football coach, is known as one of television's most respected game analysts. Since 1990, he's served as an ESPN college football analyst for ESPN's Saturday Primetime telecasts.

Welcome to the Family

The University of Pikeville men’s basketball team has three new members with the transfers of Elisha Justice, the 2010 Mr. Basketball and Gatorade Player of the Year, who is leaving the University of Louisville and Chris Johnson, a senior from Newport News, Va., who comes to the UPIKE after three seasons at NCAA Div. I St. Francis (Penn.). Senior Terrance Saintil is joining the Bears after three successful seasons at CAA power Virginia Commonwealth University and NAIA stronghold Walsh University. The players were welcomed during a press conference April 19.
