Applying for Housing

All campus housing assignments are handled through the Live @ UPIKE system; however, students must first apply for housing via the On-Campus Housing Application. All students will view their Housing Contract via the Live @ UPIKE system, which requires UPIKE login credentials to access.
 
All housing assignments are reserved in real-time and therefore will be processed on a first-come first-serve basis.

Returning Students:
Each student returning to on-campus housing will be required to complete a housing application via Joule. All students will be enrolled in a course titled “Residence Life.” Within that course, returning students will complete the application titled Returning Student On-Campus Housing Application. This application will open for students based on the number of credit hours they have completed on the days outlined in the table.
All graduate students who require University housing must contact the Office of Residence Life directly by emailing housing@upike.edu. Do not complete the application.

Students are encouraged to use the Returning Student Application Step-by-Step Guide to ensure they complete the entire housing sign-up process.

Once a housing assignment has been logged, no adjustment will be made until after the room freeze is lifted at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017.

New Students (Incoming First-Year Students, Transfer Students, and Former Students Returning to the University):

All new students are required to complete the New Student On-Campus Housing Application by following the link below. The New Student Application Step-by-Step Guide is provided to ensure each student completes the entire housing sign-up process correctly. The process is divided into two parts. Both parts are reflected in the guide.

New Student On-Campus Housing Application

Once submitted, all housing applications of new students are reviewed by Department of Residence Life Professional Staff and processed in one of three ways:

  • Roommate Request: Students who request a roommate and have their request granted will receive their housing assignment within seven business days of their GROWL session.
  • No Roommate Request: Students who do not request a roommate or who are unable to be matched with the roommate they request will receive their housing assignment between Monday, June 26, and Friday, July 14, via their UPIKE email account.
  • Submissions after July 14: Students who submit their housing application after July 14 will be assigned to housing on a first come, first serve basis. These students will receive their assignment information via their UPIKE email account within seven business days of submitting their application.

Things to Know:

Cancellation Policy:
In order to cancel a housing assignment, students must notify Student Services in writing. With the exception of open/late registration, notification of cancellations must be submitted to the Director of Residence Life via email by:

  • Fall semester – June 15, 2017
  • Spring semester – November 30, 2017
Personal Property:
Students are encouraged to purchase personal property insurance while living on campus.
