Pikeville, Ky.
As the University of Pikeville campus re-opens, students and community members alike will notice many new enhancements to the dining program. UPIKE Dining/Aramark is excited to introduce the additions of a Chick-fil-A, Einstein Bros. Bagels and a Provisions On Demand (P.O.D.) Market on the sixth floor of the Health Professions Education Building.

The Chick-fil-A and Einstein Bros. Bagels locations will be the first of each of these franchises in Pikeville. Just as the City View Café has been open to the public, these restaurants look forward to serving the entire community.

“We are pleased to welcome the community into the new Health Professions Education Building and hope that everyone feels at home on our campus,” said UPIKE President Burton J. Webb, Ph.D.

The campus community and the public will be able to “Eat Mor Chikin” when Chick-fil-A opens on August 7. The new Chick-fil-A location will serve the original Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich, Chick-fil-A® Nuggets, Chick-fil-A® Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich, Chick-fil-A® Waffle Potato Fries, Chick-fil-A® Grilled Market Salad, Chick-fil-A® Fruit Cup, freshly-squeezed Chick-fil-A® Lemonade, ice tea and a variety of soft drinks. Hours of operation for Chick-fil-A will be August 7-11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The restaurant will re-open August 14-18, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and be open Saturday, August 19, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Einstein Bros. Bagels will provide world famous, freshly-baked bagels, signature sandwiches, Bagel Thin Sandwiches, lighter options and artisan roasted coffees. Hours of operation for Einstein Bros. Bagels will be August 7-11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The restaurant will re-open August 14-18, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and be open August 19-20, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

P.O.D. Market will meet the demand of students looking for healthy and convenient grab ‘n go dining options for breakfast, lunch or any time of day including freshly-prepared breakfast sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, as well as fresh produce, bakery and coffee selections, and traditional essentials found in a convenience store.

Combining the corner store concept with the style of a modern market, P.O.D. Market will offer information about the place of origin and nutritional value of menu items. Product cues clearly identify food items as vegan, organic, kosher, locally-grown, gluten-free, low-carb or fair trade. Hours of operation for P.O.D. Market will be August 7-11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will re-open August 14-18, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and be open August 19, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and August 20, 4 to 11 p.m.

“All of the enhancements we made to the dining program are based on student feedback, and are designed to provide students with even more opportunities to enjoy their meals, as well as their overall dining experience,” said Melissa Frazier, general manager of Aramark/University of Pikeville. “We are pleased to offer students more variety, convenience and value.”

Normal hours of operation for Chick-fil-A, Einstein Bros., and P.O.D. Market will be announced upon the return of students on August 21. Please check the location tab on pc.campusdish.com for those hours.
