Student art featured at Weber Art Gallery

March 02, 2011 4:00 PM
PIKEVILLE, KY
The Weber Art Gallery at Pikeville College is currently featuring the works of graduating senior Brittany Moore.

The senior art show meets part of the exit requirement for a graduating art major and is a reflection of the students’ development and interests. Moore’s show features a variety of media including sculptures, paintings and ink drawings.

“I love to create art from my imagination rather than looking at a subject and reproducing it,” said Moore. “I listen to music when I work because it triggers a mood that influences the line, form and color that I create.”
Moore is a member of the women’s soccer team, cheerleading squad, Pink Ladies, Art Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Zeta Omega Chi sorority. She is the daughter of Angela and Ricky Thornsbury of Belfry.

The art show will run through March 22. Moore will discuss her artwork during a reception on Tuesday, March 8, at 11 a.m. The community is cordially invited to view the art show and attend the reception.

The Weber Art Gallery is located on the second floor of the Record Memorial Building at Pikeville College. Gallery hours are: Monday 10-11 a.m., noon-5 p.m.; Tuesday 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.; Wednesday 10-11 a.m., noon-1 p.m., 2-5 p.m.; Thursday 9:30 a.m.-1p.m., 1:30-2:30 p.m., 3-5 p.m.; and Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information contact Patricia Kowalok at 218-5758 or Petra Carroll at 218-5759.
