The Weber Art Gallery at the University of Pikeville is currently featuring the works of graduating senior Tiffany Clevinger.
The senior art show meets part of the exit requirement for a graduating art major and is a reflection of the student’s development and interests. Clevinger’s show features a variety of media including sculptures and paintings.
“I have always been interested in art,” said Clevinger. “The more I create, the more I want to create and the better I become with understanding myself and developing art. Art has influenced my way of thinking.”
Clevinger is a member of the art club, Zeta Omega Chi sorority, Blessed Unity of God, and Lambda Sigma and a peer mentor for the ACE and Upward Bound programs. She is the daughter of Kim and Roger Clevinger or Pikeville.
“I have had the pleasure of watching, teaching, seeing her develop as an artist, and becoming friends with Tiffany throughout her academic career here at the University,” said Pat Kowalok, professor of art. “There is a clearly identifiable quality about Tiffany's artwork--it is quirky, thoughtful, unique, personal and caring.”
The art show will run through March 26. Clevinger will discuss her artwork during a reception on Friday, March 9, at 4 p.m. The community is cordially invited to the art show and reception.
