Pikeville College will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine’s new educational facility and expanded clinical skills center on Friday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. The groundbreaking will be held in the lower parking lot, near the 99 steps that lead to the college. The community is cordially invited to attend.

“We are embarking on a vital project that will greatly enhance the excellent medical education our student-doctors receive,” said Pikeville College President Paul Patton. “The medical school has been a resounding success in virtually every goal we set for ourselves and we are producing outstanding physicians, many of whom are staying in Appalachia and practicing family medicine. The time has come to move this program to a different level. We hope the community will join us for this special occasion.”
