The University of Pikeville School of Dance will host its annual summer dance intensive class July 23-27 at the UPIKE Dance Studios.

This year the School of Dance will offer two forms of dance, ballet/pointe and modern dance classes, taught by instructors from the Kentucky Ballet Theatre in Lexington.

The ballet class for ages 10 through adult will be from 10 a.m. to noon. Male and female dancers are welcome. Ballet/pointe class will be from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Any males wishing to participate in a partnering class are encouraged to participate in the ballet/point class as well. A modern dance class will be held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. for ages 10 and up. A master class for those who attend the pointe class will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The cost for the summer dance intensive class at the University of Pikeville is $250 per student. Please register by May 1. For more information, contact Peggy Davis at peggydavis@upike.edu or call the dance studio at 218-5751 and leave a message.
