From rock to harmony and a band ensemble, the Pikeville College spring concert has something for everyone.
Pikeville College Concert Band and Choir will perform on Tuesday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Chrisman Auditorium on the college campus.
Concert band selections include “Heritage Overture” written by the legendary Jim Andy Caudill, a former music professor at the college. The concert band is under the direction of Nathan Varney.
The concert choir performance will open with a four-part harmony of the college’s alma mater and also feature the works of Kirby Shaw and Moses Hogan. The evening will close with an arrangement of “Somebody to Love,” by Queen accompanied by a rock band. The concert choir is led by Janean Freeman, assistant professor of music.
