After 17 years as assistant director of athletics and sports information director at Pikeville College and the University of Pikeville, Rick Bentley became instructor of sport management in the Fall 2013 semester. He has been covering sports in Eastern Kentucky since February 1988 for newspaper, radio and television. A member of Pikeville’s centennial class, he is active in many aspects on campus and in his church. He is married to Marsha Adkins, and lives on Rockhouse with their son, Chance.

Gilliam is a Kentucky native, hailing from nearby Paintsville. She worked in purchasing for a manufacturer and as advertising director for a small retail clothing chain before coming to UPIKE. Her research interests include transformational leadership and leadership in private colleges. She enjoys singing and listening to music, watching movies, walking and flower gardening. She has two children, Amy Bartley (Chris) and Jacob Stumbo (Devyn), and resides in Pikeville with her husband Steve.

Gilliam is the current Burlin Coleman Distinguished Professor of Business. She also is the faculty advisor for Sigma Beta Delta, the business honor society and teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses at UPIKE.

Dr. Green is a native of Southeastern Idaho, and has lived in Philadelphia, Covington Tex., Western Idaho and currently resides in Eastern Kentucky. The father of four boys, Dr. Green and his wife spend a lot of time involved in their activities. He enjoys economics and mathematics and would be content to continue to learn more of both subjects. He has spent several years providing consulting services, much of it in litigation support; however, his favorite analysis would involve a large amount of data describing the customers of some business as well as data describing the same business owner’s cost of inputs.

Mrs. Maynard is a native of Prestonsburg, Ky. She began teaching at Mayo State Vocational-Technical School in Paintsville, Ky., before coming to Pikeville College in 1979. In addition to her teaching duties, she was also PC’s director of career services from 1993-2006. She is married to Darrell Maynard, president of Eastern Telephone & Technologies. The couple has three children, Ryan, Ricki and Randy. She enjoys her childrens’ sports, traveling, especially to beach locations, walking, camping and outdoor activities.

Lois Rogers is a native of Pikeville, Kentucky but grew up in nearby Prestonsburg. After graduating from Pikeville College in 2004, she spent three years in North Carolina, where she completed her masters degree and then worked as an auditor for Reznick Group in Charlotte, N.C. She returned home in the summer of 2007 to begin teaching accounting at her alma mater.

Rogers is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Kentucky Society of CPAs. She also serves as faculty adviser for Phi Beta Lambda and for UPIKE’s PEAK Team and site coordinator for the VITA program. Additionally, she fosters and transports dogs for local rescues and devotes much of her time to her own animals. Other interests include traveling, baking, interior design and fashion. Rogers plans to pursue a Ph.D. in accounting.

Dr. Snow is originally from Louisville, Ky., and has relocated to Pikeville. Before transitioning to academics, his career was in management in the dental manufacturing division of the health care industry. Dr. Snow brings more than 21 years of experience to his business and management courses. He is delighted to be a member of the UPIKE faculty and has become involved with the Pikeville community, UPIKE Mentoring Program and the Pikeville Rotary Club.

Dr. Snow’s research interests are in the areas of strategy and entrepreneurship. He is also playing an integral role in creating co-curricular entrepreneurial activities, establishing an entrepreneur center at UPIKE, and developing an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Pikeville. He is the founder and organizer of the UPIKE Startup Challenge.
