Criteria for Exit
From Any University of Pikeville
Undergraduate Teacher Education Program


Before exiting any undergraduate teacher education program at the University of Pikeville, the candidates must show they have potential for successfully completing the Kentucky Internship Program and for becoming effective teacher leaders who enable all students to learn.

General Requirements
1. The candidate must complete the University of Pikeville Undergraduate Teacher Education Unit Operations Survey.

Professional Knowledge
2. The candidate will demonstrate professional knowledge by successfully completing Clinical II with a grade of “P.”

Teacher Competencies
3. The candidate will demonstrate application of the ten Kentucky Teacher Standards and the University of Pikeville Teacher Standard by earning a score of 3 or higher on each KTS and UPIKETS on the Exit TPA.
4. The candidate will demonstrate application of KTS 6, technology standard by earning a score of 3 or higher on KTS 6 on the Exit TPA.
5. The candidate will demonstrate application of KTS 10, leadership standard by earning a score of 3 or higher on KTS 10 on the Exit TPA.
6. The candidate will demonstrate impact on P-12 learning by scoring 3 or higher on the following standards of the Exit Teacher Performance Assessment (TPA): a. KTS 5 (The Teacher Assesses and Communicates Learning Results) b. KTS 7 (The Teacher Reflects on and Evaluates Specific Teaching/Learning Situations and/or Programs)
7. The candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the application of each of the ten Kentucky Teacher Standards and the University of Pikeville Teacher Standard by earning a score of 3 or higher on each standard on the Exit from the University of Pikeville Undergraduate Teacher Education Program Interview.
8. The candidate must complete the Exit from the University of Pikeville Undergraduate Teacher Education program survey.
9. The candidate must complete the Kentucky Teacher Survey to rate the University of Pikeville’s undergraduate teacher preparation program(s).

University of Pikeville Professional Dispositions
10. The candidate must demonstrate commitment to the program’s professional dispositions related to diversity by earning a score of 3 or higher on each disposition assessed by using the Exit from the Undergraduate Teacher Education Program Disposition Behavior Checklist.
11. The candidate will demonstrate commitment to the Program’s Dispositions by scoring a 3 or higher on the following: KTS 2.2, 3.3, 4.2, 5.4, 6.3 assessed by using the TPA.
