Why is my computer slow/acting funny?
Many things can inhibit computer performance. The following is a list of potential reasons why your computer is slow:
- Your computer does not have enough RAM for current computing requirements. You should have at least 2 GB of RAM for your computer to efficiently perform. If your computer is slow due to outdated hardware, you may need to upgrade your RAM or purchase a new computer.
- Your computer could have a lot of “junk files” left over from software that has been removed. To remedy this, you could run “CCleaner,” a free software package that removes unneeded files to help increase system performance. Check the CCleaner documentation before installing to see if it is what you need.

You could download free anti-virus software, such as Microsoft Security Essentials. In the event you have malware, you could download Malwarebytes.
