Donor Challenge
It's that time again! Due to the rivalry basketball game between GC Tigers and the UPIKE Bears on February 7th, we're holding an online competition again this year with our second annual Social Media Donor Participation Challenge. Last year the GC alumni came through beating our UPIKE alumni 85-16. We can do better than that!

Major Roy Rogers '98
Last Men
Major Roy Rogers, a 1998 UPIKE graduate, was recently featured in "The Last Men" a story by The New Republic.

When Charlie Troop went out on missions, Major Roy Rogers usually liked to ride in the lead vehicle. But early on the morning of May 7, 2012, it looked like the scheduled patrol might be called off. Alltech Innovation Competition
Alltech
In May 2012, Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech, issued a challenge to create jobs in the Commonwealth and spur economic development in Eastern Kentucky. Students Attend
Presidential Inauguration

by Kayla Morgan
Inauguration
The inauguration ceremony each for years is a special moment in our nation's history. This year, Dr. Nancy Cade led six University of Pikeville students to Washington, D.C. for The Washington Center Seminar: Presidential Inauguration 2013. This seminar allowed the students to listen to a group of amazing speakers, tour various historical sites in the capital, and experience the city during inauguration time.

From the re-acquisition of the Training-Academy building to the Hobbs Collection Exhibition, there are so many compelling stories this month to discover about the students, faculty, staff, and alumni of UPIKE. Spiritual Life
Life Changing...UPIKE's Time in Haiti

The words "life changing" are often used, but not often actualized. The recent trip of 16 UPIKE students to Port-au-Prince, Haiti was truly a "life changing" experience.

Unknown Bycyclists
For more than a century, images of our ancestors and intriguing pieces of Pike County history have remained unidentified. For the first time in nearly 20 years these images will be made available for public viewing.

The Marguerite Weber Art Gallery at the University of Pikeville is currently hosting "The Hobbs Collection," a series of photographic images from the late 1800s through the mid-1900s that were on display in the Hobbs General Store formerly located on Main Street in Pikeville.
